Nimbus Racing Battles Through Adversity to Claim Victory
Nimbus Racing turned a challenging race weekend into a victory after the team overcame mechanical issues, water damage, changing weather conditions, and multiple lightning delays to put the No. 80 on the top step.

The weekend took an unexpected turn during practice when mechanical issues and water damage forced the Nimbus duo of Ethan Barker and Gavin Vaughan out of their primary car. With little time to spare, the Nimbus Racing mechanics and crew quickly adapted, preparing the backup No. 80 for the remainder of the weekend.
Despite the last-minute change, Barker delivered a strong qualifying performance in a tricky wet session, putting the No. 80 P4 on the grid and keeping the team in contention heading into the race.
From the start, Barker and Vaughan focused on running a smart and disciplined race. With endurance and track position in mind, the team committed to a fuel-saving strategy, looking to maximize each stint and put themselves in position to fight for the win later in the race.
As the race progressed, another challenge emerged. Unusual lightning in the area brought the event to a halt multiple times, creating significant delays and adding another layer of uncertainty to an already unpredictable weekend.
When racing resumed, the fight at the front came down to the closing stages.
Just before what would become the final lightning delay, Vaughan made the move of the race, pulling off an incredible overtake to take the overall lead. The timing proved crucial. With the cars eventually halted once again due to lightning, the No. 80 remained at the front.
After a weekend that began with the team scrambling to prepare a backup car, Barker, Vaughan, and the entire Nimbus Racing crew walked away as race winners.
The result was a complete team effort—from the mechanics preparing the No. 80 on short notice, to the strategy calls that kept the car in contention, to the drivers executing when it mattered most.
From backup car to victory lane, Nimbus Racing found a way to win.
